We welcome our guests to join our homestead life. When you stay with us you are invited to slow down and become part of the gentle rhythm of farm life in the Stellenbosch Winelands.
Guests staying on the Homestead are given exclusive access to gather around the table for a seasonal breakfast, a family pizza evening or an intimate kitchen dinner.
Meet the Animals
Guests on the Homestead are invited to join Renier for a gentle introduction to morning life at San Gabriel. Children and grown-ups can greet the sheep, chickens, ducks, miniature donkeys, Milly, our milk goat and Olyf the pig.
Homestead Breakfast
Begin the day with our seasonal Homestead Breakfast, served daily in the Food Studio. Guests gather around a long family-style table laid with vintage crockery, sharing good food and easy conversation as the farm slowly comes to life.
Summer brings a fresh continental spread, while cooler mornings call for warm, comforting dishes served straight from the kitchen.
Breakfast at San Gabriel is an invitation to slow down, meet fellow travellers and relax.
Forest Play
Wander beneath the trees, surrounded by birdsong and the quiet sounds of the farm. Children can forage for fallen leaves, pine cones and other little forest treasures, while grown-ups slow down and enjoy the fresh country air. It’s a simple and peaceful way for the whole family to spend time in nature.
Family Pizza Night
Offered to in-house guests on selected evenings our family pizza evenings are relaxed gatherings centred around good food and time spent together.
Kitchen Dinners
Guests of the Homestead gather around our family table for a three-course dinner, prepared in the San Gabriel kitchen by Renier and served with warmth and simplicity. Glasses are poured, plates are passed around and the table slowly fills with seasonal food, easy conversation and shared stories.
Wijn Klas
A food and wine pairing like nothing else you’ve ever experienced. Join us for an informative wander through a selection of local wines, all paired to perfection by food made by Renier
The pairing is led by tasting expert Katinka van Niekerk where she will teach you how to pair wine and food through actual trial and error pairings that will change the way you drink wine forever.
Wijn Klas is a long table meal of several courses all served in our kitchen.

Blou Winkel is a little shop filled with things we love, for you and your home. Discover carefully collected vintage finds, our signature body wash, nourishing creams and room sprays, timeless kitchenalia, enamelware and more. Every piece is something we use, love or treasure ourselves.
Visit by appointment during your stay and take a little piece of San Gabriel home with you.

Shoot Locations
San Gabriel Homestead is available to hire for film and photo location shoots. Our shoot location offers a nostalgic, vintage inspired, lived-in backdrop with plenty of character.
From our gabled manor house and vintage interiors to rolling lawns, a poplar forest and swimming area, there’s a setting for every story.
Several cottages add further variety, alongside kitchens, outdoor spaces and beautifully weathered details.
