Set at the edge of the river and overlooking the natural wetlands at San Gabriel Homestead, Riverside Suite is a peaceful one-bedroom retreat in the Stellenbosch Winelands. With the intimate feel of a tiny house, it offers comfort, simplicity and a close connection to the surrounding landscape. This is an ideal cottage for couples or solo travellers seeking a quiet countryside escape.

The cosy bedroom can be prepared with a king-size bed or two single beds and includes an en-suite bathroom with a bath and shower. A small, fully equipped kitchen and compact dining nook provide everything needed for easy meals and relaxed stays.

Outside, a private seating area looks out across the river and wetlands, providing a tranquil spot for morning coffee, afternoon reading or sundowners surrounded by nature. San Gabriel’s shared swimming pool is also only a short stroll away for warm Winelands afternoons.

With its peaceful waterside setting, abundant birdlife and wonderfully secluded atmosphere, Riverside Suite offers a restful base from which to slow down and explore Stellenbosch and the Cape Winelands.

Life on the farm follows the seasons, so timings and activities may occasionally change. Any updates will be posted on the fridge in your cottage, so you'll always know what's happening during your stay.

Cottage Rules

We can’t wait to welcome you to San Gabriel. As this is both our home and a working homestead, we kindly ask that you respect the farm, our animals and fellow guests during your stay.

• Check-in: From 14:00 to 19:00
• Check-out: By 10:00
• Late check-outs are subject to availability and will incur an additional fee
• Smoking in designated areas only
• No parties
• No pets allowed
• Children must be supervised at all times
• Animals may not be chased, fed, or handled without permission
• Children under 3 stay for free in a cot. Please let us know in advance if you need a cot or high chair.

Cancellation Policy

This reservation is refundable depending on the date of cancellation and source of booking.

• If cancelling 7 days before arrival, forfeit 100% of the booking total.
• If cancelling 14 days before arrival, forfeit 100% of the deposit.
• If cancelling 21 days before arrival, forfeit 50% of the deposit.
• If cancelling 30 days before arrival, forfeit 25% of the deposit.
• Our cancellation fee is applicable regardless of whether payments have or have not been received.
• Our standard cancellation policy is not applicable to group or exclusive use stays.
